Deck & Engine Jobs aboard New Liberty MSP Vessel

M.E.B.A. deck and engine officers are flying out to Bahrain to crew up the LIBERTY PASSION, a newbuild Roll-On/Roll-Off vessel that Liberty Maritime Corp. is bringing into the U.S.-fleet.

SEACOR Ratification Vote

A tentative agreement with SEACOR was ratified by the M.E.B.A. membership on Friday, January 13th.

Oakland Patrolman Hired

M.E.B.A.’s District Executive Committee has appointed Max Alper as the new Oakland Patrolman.

Processing Delays - MMC Extension

The USCG is experiencing continued delays in processing documents for renewal. To help fix this problem they are granting an extension of national endorsements for any mariner whose Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) expires on or after December 1, 2016. The extension is effective immediately and will be valid until September 30, 2017.

Legislative Update - December 2016

The November elections were surprising on many fronts and will undoubtedly bring change to Washington D.C. For many interests and industries, that change brings consternation. The M.E.B.A. political team is optimistic though due to the long held relationships and reputation we maintain in Washington.

The National M.E.B.A. will hold its 112th National Convention on March 20, 2017. Pursuant to the National M.E.B.A. Constitution, an election of National Officers and National Executive Committee Members of the N.M.E.B.A will be held at this Convention.
